the CRAYFISH TALE Trapper Arne remembers and rambles |
MEET THE TRAPPER ARNE CREW |
After ten years of running the trap business, it became obvious that time had taken its toll on the founder of Trapper Arne. A successor had to be found.
And who would be better qualified to run the business than his son Peter, Trapper Arne Jr.
For years, and starting already in his early teens, Peter had been the steady companion when Trapper Arne Sr. went crayfish catching. Numerous treks up to our favorite crayfish hangout, Hawley Lake, saw Senior and Junior steering the aluminum rowboat out to either set out a dozen traps or to pull up a dozen well filled traps. Some trips were made in daylight, several in the light of the silvery moon, sometimes even with lightnings flashing at the horizon before we came back to our camp site.
At the very start, Trapper Arne operations were located in Payson, Arizona. At 5000 ' elevation, north of Phoenix and close to the middle of the state, it was a perfect location for handling both the trap business and to venture out when catching crayfish in some of the many crayfish filled lakes in the state. But Peter lives in the Phoenix area, so now that's the center for the Trapper Arne crayfish trap business. In addition to distributing crayfish traps, Peter is also engaged in keeping several companies around the world busy in their business of producing computer chips. This responsibility takes Peter all over the globe keeping chip manufacturers functioning.

During a remarkedly short time, Tracey has learned the ropes of handling orders on the internet website, responding to customers and to package outgoing traps for shipment. In the meantime Tracey also makes sure that daughter Annika gets to and from her school. Tracey is also 'going to school' learning captioning which may one day become her main occupation. Oh, yes, she also prepares food for all three in her house not to mention the black lab

Annika has also grown up with family members catching crayfish on practically all outdoorsy events in the mountains of Arizona. She is fast becoming the expert on anything that has to do with computers and smart phones. Next time she will revise and modernize the website

Trapper Arne, Sr. inherited his love for crayfish from his home country, Sweden. When he immigrated to the USA, he was delighted to find that almost every lake and river here teemed with crayfish.
When he and his family moved to Arizona, it did not take long before crayfish excursions became annual events. And now that the internet helped locate crayfish traps, it did not take long before Arne also started a business making and importing crayfish traps from, where else, Sweden.
After ten years selling crayfish traps on the internet, time took its toll and it was time for Sr. to hand over the business to Jr. i.e. Peter.
